Hanoi: charming and restless
When it comes about Vietnam, I would always choose Hanoi!
Hoan Kiem Lake - the very heart of Hanoi, few minutes walking from Old Quarter; we took a stroll around the lake everyday, it was like going really far away, taking a break from the bustling surroundings.
And we chose to stay in the Old Quarter - so you can add narrow streets overpopulated with locals and tourists alike and motor-bikes and stall with flowers, fruits and on-the-spot-cooked food, and smells and very good beer and again food!
One of the best food I ever tried!
We visited none of those touristy spots of Hanoi - I know, I know but it was the first stop of our trip and we were kind of adjusting; besides being in the Old Quarter was like "see it all" so yeah, we took it easy. However one day walking around we end up right in front of this magnificent cathedral resembling Notre Dame de Paris: St. Joseph's Cathedral
Hanoi, French style!
My description may be poor and definitely not suggestive enough but Hanoi it is a nice place to be.
Admittedly it can be tiring at times but you can always take a break: the food and the local beer are all - amazingly good! Cheers!
